The Bridge Talks to COP26: Cities and Regions

Cities walking the talk to COP26!

The target groups that have the most to loose on man-made climate change as we see it today, are of course the actual citizens themselves. Their closest level of government is the city. Local politicians often face the challenging task of being progressive but at the same time maintaining prosperity and well-being.

So what are the keys to unlocking the potential of local empowerment? And how are cities affected by the high-level COP decisions? Trelleborg Municipality has been successful in many of their climate investments and maintain the proud support from its citizens.

In this conversation Mikael Rubin, Mayor of Trelleborg Municipality, Yunus Arikan, Director of Global Advocacy at ICLEI, Carole Excell, Director, Environmental Democracy Practice at World Resources Institute and Lotta Olsson, Member of the Parliament, The Moderate Party, will reflect on how policy can become grassroot stories and citizen can become a resource for climate change.
